BEAE-ASBL

« For sustainable, integrated, and environmentally friendly agricultural development »

Head Office: Mbanza-Ngungu, Kongo Central Province, DRC

About Us

Who We Are ?

The Agro-Environmental Studies Bureau (BEAE) is a specialized expertise structure committed to sustainable rural development. We provide innovative solutions, specialized studies, practical training, and close technical support. Our interventions cover the following fields: agriculture, aquaculture, forestry, water resources management, climate change, and environment. Through our studies, field actions, and training programs, we strengthen the capacities of farmers, cooperatives, community organizations, and young rural entrepreneurs, contributing to more productive, resilient, and sustainable agricultural systems. Based in Mbanza-Ngungu, in the Kongo Central Province (DRC), BEAE brings together a team of agronomists, specialized technicians, and multidisciplinary experts dedicated to improving food security, enhancing the resilience of production systems, and promoting responsible natural resource management.

Our Areas of Intervention

Feasibility studies, socio-economic analyses, and mapping

We conduct in-depth studies to assess the viability of agricultural, environmental, and community projects. Through participatory mapping, we help communities better manage their natural resources and effectively plan their rural activities.

Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA)

Our experts analyze the potential effects of projects on the environment and local communities. BEAE ensures compliance with current environmental standards and proposes realistic, sustainable, and inclusive mitigation measures.

Collection and analysis of agro-environmental data

We collect, process, and analyze reliable data to support decision-making, guide agricultural policies, and improve the effectiveness of field interventions.

Climate change mitigation and adaptation

BEAE develops and supports climate initiatives, including:

  • ecosystem restoration
  • climate-resilient agricultural practices
  • community awareness
  • reducing the vulnerability of production systems

Community forestry and watershed management

We support communities in the sustainable management of their forests and watersheds, emphasizing local governance, reforestation, and natural resource conservation.

Establishment and management of community nurseries

We assist in setting up nurseries for reforestation, agroforestry, and the production of suitable species, contributing to erosion control and vegetation cover restoration.

Project design, implementation, and monitoring-evaluation

BEAE designs, plans, and monitors agricultural and environmental projects with high social impact, ensuring their efficiency, coherence, and sustainability.

Advisory services in sustainable agricultural techniques

We offer technical support based on agroecology, integrated natural resource management, and environmentally friendly practices.

Adapted irrigation systems

Our engineers design and implement efficient, accessible, and locally adapted irrigation systems to improve agricultural productivity in the face of climate variability.

Development and dissemination of technical sheets

We produce practical technical sheets to facilitate knowledge transfer, innovation, and the adoption of improved agricultural practices.

Agricultural training and extension

Through training sessions, workshops, and field demonstrations, we strengthen farmers’ skills and encourage the adoption of adapted, innovative, and sustainable agricultural practices.

Aquaculture and rural-adapted fish farming systems

We support the development of simple, sustainable, and efficient fish farming systems tailored to rural areas to enhance incomes and food security.
